Default The Cove

Tried to catch a few yesterday. Knew there would be fog in the a.m. so I left late morning thinking it would burn off by the time I got there, but I was wrong. It didn't lift until 3 pm so I spent my time trolling around Ortemond Reef and the Cove, but only caught one so I gave it to a guy in a kayak who said he had been out there all day and had about 16. Water looked good and it was flat calm, but very foggy.

Foggy mornings usually the hammock pays off, but bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work.

Thanks for the fishing report from The Cove. Will be going to Lake Fausse Pt. tomorrow. No reports, just going on blind luck.

Default Still some specks in the cove

We went yesterday and battled in the fog. We only caught 8, but they were all over 18". The only way we could get them to bite was to troll. We were trolling a cacahoe glow swim bait. We only trolled for about 2 hours as my battery was not fully charged. Good luck.

have y'all tried that reef about 100 yards off the bank on the opposite side of the cove about halfway to blue point? used to be good for white trout and a few big specks this time of year. it's a deep reef, just some shells on the bottom, but it holds fish.

I was out in the cove in my kayak the past few days and limited out each day...
It was a little weird that these guys with the outboards kept giving me a trout or two until I had my limits each day. Goin' back in the am.
