Throw live shrimp under a cork, and throw live shrimp Carolina rigged. Switch to whichever one is working best.

You can pop them on top early but they chill out once the sun is up. Carolina rigged shrimp or croakers. Rocks around the state park are good.

The beach is that Elmer's Island beach or GI beach. What about the Foushan jetties.

Last weekend in the gulf fished rocks from west to east caught lots of small ones but managed to boat a few keepers. We went to Fouchon jetties the nest day bigger fish then got on birds and 1-8 keepers to throw backs, needless to say we caught a ton of fish even in the bay fishing points that current breaks. live shrimp was bait of choice although i fished clear sparkle beetle 1/8oz wt and caught just as many fish as live bait.

try a clear/red flake tko shrimp too. I take it off the hook they give you and put it on a jighead. I also usually take the weight out of the shrimp

The rocks at the west side o the island and the underwater rocks at the east end have been giving up nice trout on free lined shrimp and croakers.

Hit the inside rocks on GI (East side) and found a ton of fish. Mostly small but was able was able to throw a few in the box for lunch today before heading back out there.

Watch for the Jacks, they were all over the place and really got the better of me as they broke my favorite rod and took my favorite rig (she dog with H/R jig head)

At the end of the day I tagged 15 trout kept 8 and threw back about 15 or 20 more.

Most were caught on live shrimp next to the rocks under a popping cork.

as a reference, the big one is 18"

this is what the Jack did to my Ugly Stik G2X
