What kinda speck decoys y?all like?
Full bodies for shallow water rice fields, I thought the GHGs look good.
Also how many is a big spread/small spread to you, and what do y?all typically run?
Thanks fellas

GHG is good. I like to use a 6-12 typically and have put up to 24 before but as the season comes to an end we typically go to 2-4 decoys. This is marsh hunting and field hunting with friends. All seams to be the same.

if you are wanting to keep your spread small and realistic(high quality decoy) check out deception decoys, replica decoys, blue collar, dave smiths, etc.

if you are wanting something easier on the wallet, then GHG, tanglefree, dakota, etc.

me personally i like the one piece decoys, just because i handle mine ALOT and dont have to worry about the heads becoming loose. also, try to stay away from the fully flocked decoys if you plan on handling them alot.

as far as spread size, there are more and more people going with big spreads now days. i believe your average spread is anywhere from 2-4 dozen. i know of many guys that hunt over 5-10 dozen on any given day... but then again that all depends on circumstances.

your best bet is to mimic the birds that you see in close proximity to where you will be hunting. if you dont hold any birds nearby, then i would go as big as you can. if you are hunting where the birds are at already then keep it small like meat killer said.

dont forget to hide.
