That's what I'm saying Feesherman. I trust 40 yrs of taxidermy work and a lifetime of hunting waterfowl. A degree in Biology doesn't teach you about waterfowl identification but i'd more than welcome a Waterfowl Biologist's thoughts. Is that your occupation?

Cool looking bird, but it would be nice to see it up against something. I don't doubt it's a hybrid if its twice the size of a green wing; I'm just not seeing pintail in there. I don't see any feature that leads me to believe its got pintail in it. Could be wrong though.

It does appear at first glance to be a larger than normal teal. Love to see it against a mallard or something.

Wording is key here. Re-read what was said. A biology degree does not make you an expert on wildlife identification. Hitinitdaily actually welcomed the opinion of a "waterfowl biologist" as you put it.

Actually if you re-read what he said, "waterfowl biologist" is how HE put it. I'm not thinking he is welcoming a biologists assessment when he's put all his faith in his taxidermist.

What's your problem? It's clearly NOT a GWT. He doesn't need a waterfowl biologist to tell him that's a hybrid. The dude has been stuffing ducks for 30 years and mounted over 40,000 birds and stayed at a holiday inn express last night.

Clearly I wasn't privy to this information. In light of this new evidence I must agree it is indeed a green winged pinsquaw
