Default Tagged Redfish

I was wondering if any of you guys have ever caught a tagged redfish with a reward on it. Called the number on the tag and have not recieved a call back. Just wondering what the reward might be? The fish was released.

kudos for releasing the tagged fish!!! Thats really the mindset we need to instill since a tagged fish makes up such a small % of the population. And its really cool when multiple captures come in on the same fish!

Back to your question. Depends on who tagged it.

If it is a CCA STAR tag, you will get some kind of "fishing package" from them. Kinda like if you won a raffle table at the banquet.

If LDWF tagged it, its usually just a certificate sent to you, maybe with a few other small goodies.

Thanks for the info man. It was a LDWF tag I called and left a message with them and they have not called back so I was just wondering about it. Once again thanks for the info.

Wouldn't it be cool if we could do that with ducks.

I caught a tagged redfish in Grand Isle and didn't know it was tagged until i was cleaning it. It was part of a tagging program w/ a 1-800 ph. # and they sent me a $3.00 reward and gave me the specifics on when, where, how big, etc. when it was tagged by the previous fisherman. It hadn't strayed far when I caught it and it had grown apx. 4 inches and 1.5 lbs. Pretty cool info.
