Idk I was wondering the same thing , I just remember I was gonna get hammered last year in taxes and I asked my account n he said there was a cap

It's different for cash versus donating clothes and such to a charity. I know there is a limit on donated goods you can claim, but I don't know if money has a limit.

The limit is generally 50% of your AGI (adjusted gross income on your tax return) except for certain rare exceptions in which a 30% or 20% limit may apply. Excess contributions maybe carried forward to future tax years.
