I checked the LDWF web site and don't see anything about the shrimp season closing.

Is shrimp season still open in SW Louisiana?

Rockefeller refulge shrimp season isn't specific dates. It follows the inshore shrimp season for that particular zone. I have no clue if that inshore season is closed. But if it is closed you can still catch 10lbs of shrimp during the closed season.

Yes, it's still open. I'm sure LDWF will announce about inshore shrimp season closing shortly. Usually the fall shrimp season is closed around the 20th of December. Please keep your eye on LDWF website for shrimp season closing as often as you can until LDWF releases the news soon.

No, it's open all year round, but some canals are closed from December 1 to March 1. ie: Bertand canal area is now closed. There are some signs on the post at few canals. The sign says "Closed December 1 until March 1" or something like that.
