Same for us in GC. 18 birds, 4 greys, 3 gw, rest bw. Hope this front doesnt push out the bw, they were the majority of our bag.

We also killed about 40% blue wings, even if they don't move south they will have plenty of real estate options.

The best opening we have had in years. Saw big flocks of birds all morning long. Lots of pintail, grays, mottles ,and teal. got our 3 mottles early and could have killed 20. had flocks of 50 to 100 teal coming in and out of the decoys all morning. Yes I do like the early season and if we wouldn't have had 10"of rain in 2 weekends I think everyone would have had ducks

We had our limit of 18 this morning in gc, 1 grey 2 spoons (could've passed) and the rest about an equal split of blues and greens. There were plenty of good groups flying but the low ceiling had them just a little to high, they either came in or not....and naturally we had 3 solid groups come in as soon as we were leaving the blind. Looking forward to what tomorrow brings

I hunt just south of Klondike in the marsh. Saw majority blue wings this morning. Have hunted same blind for 7 years now right next to white lake. Weak numbers of everything but teal. First opener I haven't killed a mallard, and first opener ever our club hasn't killed one as a whole.

SW LA as a whole was well below average, and if it weren't for BW teal, it would have been even worse.

I am in the marsh too and been there for 14 yrs. A lot of our birds where coming from the east south east and from the north. I saw a lot more greenwings than bluewings

High water is definitely an issue with us, we have almost 1ft over at the blind. Hopefully this north wind will blow out some water instead of ducks

Worst opener I've had in my life. Those commissioners nailed it. I mean our duck season shouldn't be opening the same da as missouri.

That's strange that we are in the same area and you saw mainly blue wings. Again today, we shot mostly green wings. Had our 4 man limit at 7:10. I was surprised by 2 things: 1, we finished earlier than yesterday and 2 I used exactly half the shells I used yesterday. Ha

It was a good opening weekend for our lease we killed six limits yesterday and killed five limits today. Had a lot of green wings in the area yesterday and a few grey ducks. Today the teal were almost 50/50 as far as green and blue with a lot more grey ducks showing up. I'm still not a fan of opening a week early though.

Take that for what you will, but I think this is more the norm for November based on the last 12 years. Last year was the first time since 1995 that the November count was over 3 million, according to that survey. And between 1999 and 2006, only the 2002 survey topped the 2006 numbers (2.6 million in 2002; 2.3 million in 2006). The November estimate has only met or eclipsed the 2 million mark 7 times since 1995, and only 3 times since 2000. And its been at or below 1.5 million 8 times since 2000 (maybe 9, 2001 looks borderline 1.5 million).
And look at what the temps were last year at this time. I looked at my log book and it was in the 30's opening weekend. We had some early cold fronts last year.
