I just need to get more info about that ramp and RV park before I make anything official. I haven't had time to drive out there yet to look around and figure out the details.

His BIL does, but he doesn't know much about the park, etc. I already talked to the owner and everything sounds good, just wanna see it in person to make sure it is decent and to help with the logistics of what goes where. I just need to get out there one weekend and take a bunch of pictures of the ramp, the RV park, the boat parking between the two, and find out who owns the ramp (city, I assume) and verify with them if we can weigh in there.

Shad, which park in reference? The one on pleasure island? If so, the city owns it - decent size lot, with two boat ramps...

Nah, this one is down near the pass, by the Coast Guard station. The RV park (Stay Awhile) is 3 blocks from the ramp. Looks like a nice, big ramp, and the owners would basically give us the run of the park. No need to shut 'er down at 10PM.

Thanks, bro!

Also, let me know if there is any place for boats to dock to weigh-in quickly and head back out. Now I just need to find out who owns/runs the ramp to see if we can do anything there.

Hmmmm....Im thinking we should do the launch at the Yacht Club on Pleasure Island then if you want to do a quick weight-n-go type of deal. Ill take pictures of both spots and let you decide.

OK, thanks! Since Texans will be involved, we will likely offer a weight incentive for weighing in live fish and releasing them.

After the weigh in locations are finalized, we need to figure what bar we are going to be closing down!

Default Ramp

If your talking about the 4 way in Sabine Pass. That is a county owned ramp. It does have lots of parking but not much room for a weigh in. The RV park on the island is a much better location for what your talking about. A come in and weigh and go. They also have two ramps and a nice parking area. The area around it is roomy for a weigh station.

Are you talking about Pleasure Island RV Park? There was some reason I didn't look into that place, but I can't remember why now. I'll go back and look at their rules again. One of the RV parks didn't allow any alcoholic beverages and one didn't allow any noise after 10PM, both of which would be a showstopper for us.

I used to launch at the Pleasure Island RV Park all of the time. Parking lot is nice and big, and the ramps are good. Boat ramp is set in a cove off of the lake, which makes it easy when the tide is ripping.

I would have to think that this is the RV park that doesn't allow noise after 10PM, as it seems like a lot of people live there permanently.

What about having an "after party" in Beaumont? Not familiar with the local establishments, but has to be some place to go.

Shadman, I sent you a name and email of someone who lives on the island. They can hook you up with what ever you need. They might even have a few who want to fish the tournament.
