Belize, Amergris Caye, or Mexico's Mayan Riveria....wait until December when that swine flu kicks up again, the place will be deserted.
We went down there during the last scare and absolutely had the place to ourselves.

Perdido Key, Fla. is not like the spring break places in Fla.
Seaside and Seagrove, Fla. are not either.
Lood up 30-a.com on the internet, then click the links at the top.
Good food, very quiet places. No high rise buildings either.

We went at the apex of the scare and it's nothing but BS. Put it to your sister this way...Mexico City had the majority right? If New York City had the flu, would you not travel to California. Believe me....good times there, and yes tequilla doesn't hurt a thing!

I priced Fla during the flu bs as a backup...Mexico for 8 days all inclusive was still way cheaper. I do wanna go to Fla again someday though. Take the yaks and do a round trip down the West side to the Keys, see the Tortugas , and back up the East side. I'll have to checkout Seaside. Thanks for that tip.

Colorado and New Mexico are very dry..............You can wear shorts and t-shirt in winter and not freeze....I lived there for the winter in 97...Just a heads up...............That's where I'd go.....Tim

You can also fish for "W" style fish. Coldest day of my life was right there!

Blondie,
That's an easy fix . 4 day cruise out of N.O. Cheap vacation overall .
4 day has stop in cozumel and progresso .
Best vacation value for your $$$$
Only type of vacation we take now usually an 8 day and at least one 4 or 5 day a year.

kinda hit the nail on the head...that's what the hubby is wanting to do...5 day out of Galvaston, with stop in Progresso and Cozumel...We've done been on the boat out of New Orleans, so he wants a different boat...I love cruising, but at the same time, don't like being tied down to certain things at certain times...And these places we see, we only get to stay about 8 hours and that's just enough to tick you off... It's definately the best bang for your buck though...It's gonna be a toss up between a cruise, Cancun or Cozumel...Just depends on the best deal...

Yeah, my sister in law has a pic of her out in the snow with shorts and a tshirt...I thought she was suicidal and she was like "It's not as cold as it looks."...my father in law lives in Gatlinburg and is wanting us to come up there for a few days too...

the one we're looking at is 5 day, oceanview, gratuities paid up front, progresso and cozumel, all said and done for 935...I looked at the excursions and it came up to about 1350 total...that ain't bad...you can fly to Cozumel for that much, but can't do nothing...
