Default Closest rigs to Calcasieu Pass?

These rigs look to be about 3-5 miles out. Anyone give them a try? I know snapper are a long shot in what looks to be 40-60 ft depths, but are there any other interesting species? Mackerel? Ling? Tripletail? Too early for sharks?

3-5 miles out I think is only 15ft of water out of Cameron

If you are talking about the jackups, it is 6 miles. Trout, reds, etc. Some mackerel sometimes.

If memory serves, Meaux is right on the water depth.

Thanks guys. The end of the jetties is already at 15 feet of water, so I'm sure the rigs are deeper than that. I've been out to the side both E and W, and my sonar consistently reads 14-16 feet, with the holes dug out by the current a bit deeper, but the flat spots close to 15.

Unfortunately, the water out of Cameron is probably the shallowest of all in Louisiana territorial waters. To get into snapper this time of year, I target 75' at minimal due to water temps. With that said, we were sight casting to ling 8 miles offshore a week ago tomorrow. You never know till you go!!!

A rule of thumb I use is start at the end of the jetties at 15' and add one foot for every mile you go out. North Oil City is 25 miles out and water depth is about 40'.
