I am still learning about reefs and such but this seems like a win, right? I wonder if the statistics are right with the 100,000 sack estimate.

We believe the oyster stock assessments in the figure (data from LDWF) are accurate, showing over 1 million in 2003 and about 100,000 now. We've reviewed the LDWF sampling methods, and they both seem to be sound are are among the most careful oyster stock assessment sampling methods around. We also note that the LDWF oyster numbers are well correlated with other environmental variables that one would expect them to be well correlated with based on the ecosystem services and other interrelated habitat issues.

The oyster task force is disputing LDWF numbers and hired their own biologist. They say there are 1 million still but they are unable to fish them because DHH kappa the north end of the lake closed.

I'm sure lots of greedy folks would love to sell the coliform contaminated oysters from the N end of the lake.

How many times has the task force second guessed the LDWF numbers as too high?

That's basically same write up in paper and on news

Where the data they try to use by saying we hired biologists is not 100% true reading .

Because the biologists they hired took samples all over lake and off Comm Pt, Turner's , south Com etc

Yes we have healthly oysters above the fire line because they have not been rapped for last 10 years

South lake is done !!

It's either close or tong only .. no other choice

I know they always use it. Just an FYI. I posted in Louisiana Fishing on FB and one of the "Task Force" members commented that I didn't know what I was talking about and cited "their " data.

Hopefully this bill will pass. I never knew that it was as pad as that CCA article said it was. That makes me wonder if they do shut dredging down how many years will it take for the populations to restore themselves.

I am asuming here but I would guess the much higher salinity levels we have now won't help.

We really need the nine mile area rocked off for a number of reasons.

CCA's website doesnt even lay claim to this effort saying that they just support it. They said "Rep Steve Dwight introduced a bill..." The point is that if any individual associated with CCA is trying to claim that they (CCA) were responsible for this bill, they are misrepresenting the facts. They just support it and think its cool basically.

100% correct

I support that CCA supports the bill and hope they use some of that overpaid politics they have to get it

But when Raymond goes MIA for two years because he had zero defense for CCA lack of efforts on Big Lake !
When he has nothing to fire he tuck and ran ,,

And wants to come back here like superman like "HE" did something or knows more than others!
He wants to be that "look at me "it" guy"

Not that I'm defending anyone the only post I saw was where Ray was notifying everyone of the bill. He never said he or anyone with CCA actually had anything to do with it from what i could tell. I might have missed something but it seems like a shame to blame someone if he never really did anything wrong
