Yes, Heberts is on the east side. Easy to get to from Spicers, just take the Texaco Cut and drive across.

Got out the last hour before dark and the storm. Hit west cove. Hooked some specks right off. And a big sting ray! Only one keeper speck though. Heading out early in the am.

Got out into west cove again this morning. Got into some good trout schools early. Mostly dinks. 4 keepers. No reds.

Water is dark. Visibility about a foot down. All specs caught on white and chartreuse DOA weightless.

Anybody have any pointers or direction for some better possible action? Couldn't even see any birds to chase! Marked on map where we hooked into specs.

We finished with 7 yesterday and 8 today. I don't know if it's the full moon or my substantial lack of skill but from everyone I talked to it seemed like it was a tough weekend.

Dang. Still a decent haul. I think tomorrow we will hit more of the pvc pipes, reefs. Was planning on back out this evening. But looking like bad weather.

Zero luck this morning. Fished all the oyster reefs around west cove. Went by the camps in mud bayou. And all around the island. Hooked a huge gafftop on my popper cork. Thought I had a red at first. Probably 7-8lbs.

Just got off. Stupid storm blowing through again .

Been just overcast all day in sulphur. Radar showing raining on big lake all day still. Anybody confirm?

Hoping the weather clears so I can at least get back out one more time tomorrow morning.

Not much this evening. Cleared up beautifully. Caught one keeper speck. Fat 21"! Right by the shipping container on bird island.

Nice speck. Thx for report. I did some wade fishing down by pogy plant. Water was clearing up nicely with good tide but just not biting. Jelly fish ended my wade early and went down by ferry and caught a couple decent specks. idk wats up just cant get on em. gonna get back out in boat later this week

We hit west Cove Sunday afternoon. Figured we'd make a short trip before the weather ran us out but it never did. Stayed north of us all afternoon dang near flat calm and the fish were on fire! Trout busting shrimp everywhere you looked. We caught our 30 in the first hour or so then played catch and release until we decided we'd had enough and it was time to head back home.

Geez! Wish we had caught half as many as that total in 4 days!

Well. That's a wrap. Hit jetis, monkey island canal, 9 mile cut, all over west cove and around bird island, reefs, and grass lines and not a single thing besides trash fish all morning. Caught a good spec at the weir waiting for brother to get the truck and it spit the hook when I went to pull in the boat.

Thanks everyone for the tips. Maybe next time I'll actually catch some.
