Default talon help

Looking for anyone around the Lafayette area that has a talon on their boat. We just got ours in and would like to take a look at it mounted on someone's boat and get feedback on any problems with mounting it on the boat.

I had no problems with mine. I love it but the new boat gonna have the 10' power pole chee yeah!
I mounted mine to the boat it's not to bad but if I could do it over I'd go with a jack plate bracket.
All in all I don't think you will be disappointed

I have one also. It makes a lot more noise than the Power Pole.
No problems yet. But I don't use it a lot.
If I had to do it again, Power Pole, cause of the noise.

I have one and love it so far, remotes work great and noise is not bad. I have it offset from my transom. Ordered the bracket from Minnkota, it is nice!!!

Neither one looks good.
Both are easy to use, lot better than a regular anchor.
But the Talon is very noisy. Power Pole is super quiet.

I think the signature series pole pole looks bad azz but that is me. You could also go with the stick it anchor pin a save over 1k.

Actually I would have to disagree with any of them better than anchor...

You are limited with a pole stick vs anchor

I chose not to get a power pole because I see them on a bunch of guide boats and most still use anchor anyway

Poles don't hold good in rough waters, hard shell bottoms , limits your fishing area, makes noise and will drag, can't use in any kind of deep water

As an anchor gives you all the above. Good anchor will hold in all conditions and you can position you boat as needed by using your tie cheats, deep water is no problem and your anchor is faster to hold in windy and rough conditions

Old technology still over powers the new in this situation I believe ...IMO

I agree with some of that.
It's pretty easy to push a button in most places I fish, than to set out an anchor.
Nothing holds better than a good anchor. Can't argue with that.

I agree, pole anchors really shine for shallow water fishing in the marsh.
