Default Boat price

Might be picking up a boat from a family member before long. Wondering what a fair price would be. It's an early 90s aluminum 16x48 I would say hull in great condition. Has a tohatsu mega 25 on it that needs a new water pump and tune up.

Any ideas on what a fair price to offer would be?

I'm gonna use this as a basin boat/ get a surface drive for it as well. Prolly a 35 horse go devil.

Only problem is the outboard is set up on a side console. How difficult is it to run a console set up on a surface drive

Thanks guys

I got a 1990 model 16' alweld with with 1990 merc 25. Great condition with perfect carpet. Kept covered. Got it for $2500 and I felt it was a steal for the shape it was in. On an older boat I feel its the motor condition that fluctuates the price.

Changing the water pump in that motor is easy ...... And it's probably one of the fastest motors out there!!!!

And if you plan on selling the Mega when you get a surface drive, do your homework. You can get a few coins for a Mega.

I don't plan on selling the mega. I was gonna keep both. And just switch them when needed

Unless selling the mega could help me pay for a new outboard and surface drive

if the mega is in good shape, runs good,
you can get around 3000 for it, go to refugeforums.com and go to the arkansas forum on the bottom, ask there. That's all they do is run megas

If I was looking at a mega I would get it checked out very thoroughly. They are supposed to be running on borrowed time after 15 years or so due to the blocks corroding around the bottom cylinder.
