I like fishing heavy cover, especially matted grass. I like to start with a topwater frog (ribbit or spro) and see if I can get a good topwater bite. If I get some blow-ups but cannot catch one I will follow with a texas rigged soft plastic. The density of the cover will dictate which plastic I throw. If I am punching I will use big heavy braid, at least 1/2oz tungsten, and some type of creature bait (chigger craw and sweet beaver are favorites).
