Default Well dang

Long Easter weekend plans were remodal work on my grandmas place Saturday, yard work Sunday, fish Monday. Problem is the tranny in the truck decided to retire Saturday morning. Engine has had a lifter bleeding down and ticking so I knew that was coming before long but then the tranny dies. Reman engine and tranny coming from Jasper. 3 yr 100k warranty. I love my 07 Sierra 4x4. 5k in parts and I spend a weekend at the shop versus 40k for a new truck. I'm grateful i'm in a position that allows me to pay nothing but cost on parts and no $ for labor. I just have to do it. That's what I do though.

better to own a truck an pay to maintain, then paying a note on a truck.

I agree... you hear people say "there ain't no way I'd spend $2,000 to get that old truck fixed, you'd be better off just getting a new one." And my thinking is $2,000 is a lot better then running out and dropping $40,000 on a brand new one.

The only perk to having a brand new truck is you don't have to go through the hassle of it breaking down and leaving you on the side of the road.

Y'all thinking like me. Did not want to get rooed into an $800/1k a month truck note. 07 mod isn't that old and I like my truck. Other than spending a weekend qorking on my own stuff there is really no downside to doing the engine and trans. Especially with a 3 year 100k warranty. Not gonna get much better warranty if I went 40k for a new one.
