Default Old blind posts removal

Does anyone have any successful advice for removing old posts from old blinds? I hate having them sticking up in the pond but also hate cutting them off at the water level. Just wondering if anyone knew a way to remove them.

Good luck! Two guys opposite each other taking post pushing it back and forth (east-west). Then move north-south postion. After a 1/2day of doing this you should be able to get one post out! Better yet take a sledge hammer and drive the post all the way in the marsh....quicker.

on Fausse pointe we put our blind in between two others and the other ones got hit by Jewish lightning and aren't there anymore except for a few posts. Instead of cutting them down we put out confidence decoys on top of them you want equal ratio of seagulls to Pelicans and preferably the white pelicans Got a guy in Rayne that makes the decoys for us. Can get you his number

Hahaha don't forget about cormorant dekes. I especially like the ones with their wings spread drying out in the sun.

You can rock them back and forth. Them put a chain around them below the water line...
With a good size metal pipe or 2x6 etc..

Two peps should be able to get on each end of pipe or board and lift them up... Sliding the chain down every so often..

May have to give it a try. Was wondering if there was a way to suck them out with a mud motor.

You would probably be better off just sinking them down as far as possible, eventually they'll rot away and won't be an issue

Well yea that would work I think. Chain up to the post with a bridal on your stern, get real close, trim all the way down and let er eat. It should wash the mud away for a few feet down, then push on the post with bow and break em off. They will break at the mudline.

when the guy shows up to rebuild his blind that you built next too, he's probly gonna return the favor of 'jewish lightning'. lol
happens alot.

wood is alot better to run into than pipe.

just tie a rope to the wood posts and then tie the rope to your transom and wash them out. easiest way to do it.
