Default Do you let her swim another day

Just out of curiosity, whats the max size trout, not one going on the wall would you keep? Had a guy tell me I was crazy for letting a 6lb trout go to fight another day.....just curious.

25 inches or bigger gets released.

I have let 2 fish over 8 go, with the thinking I would one day catch a 9 lber. Needless to say, I still have nothing on my wall.

my dad would never let me throw a trout back...... but I'd probably throw 6lbers and up back. 4lbers staying in the boat W sorry lol

I don't even know if I want to mount a trout so I'd probably throw an 8lb back as long as I get a pic.

For bass I throw everything back when i fish by myself, but I don't let anyone keep a fish over 4lbs unless they are mounting it.

Throw 5 + back unless hooked deep. Never plan on mounting a trout, so even 8's are turned loose.

I will let anything go 4.5-7.5, 7.5+ is coming home for the wall. My cousin caught a 7 last year with me. Biggest trout he ever caught (biggest before that was like 3lbs). I told him if you are gonna mount him, keep it, if not, let it go. Of course he says he's mounting it and it is almost exactly a year later and it is still in his freezer.

If I finally catch one 8 or better it probably wont make it back in the water. I will probably pass out and drop it on the floor where it will die .

I just have no desire to put a knife or mount anything like that.........
a replica I have done on a bass, (it's in Surperior Tackle in BTR now)

I really only keep what I can eat in two may three meals..........
But dat's just me, I hate cleaning fish!! LOL

Personally I regret releasing the two 8+ trout. I am starting to think I will never top that. Crazy thing I caught both of them the same day!

I am starting to let anything go over 4. I have caught several between 6-6.5 and struggle to break that mark, but anything 8+ is going on my wall...

Im with Top Dawg on this. I dont see the big deal you guys have with keepin the big'uns. I would have kept all of the ones that you guys mentioned letting go. I have no desire to mount one either. Thats just me.
