Mine broke off long time ago. As long as you have it turned around facing the back of the boat then it won't come open. I have a 94 quart I use for my fish box in front and a 54 quart under my leaning post in back for drinks and both have no latches. No problems.

And when the hinges broke on the back I just cut some leather from my old work boots and instantly had new hinges. Enginuity at its best.

Yep. I used an old leather belt for hinges. Will never break again.

In all seriousness when u buy a high dollar ice chest make sure u are gonna use it.

I got my yeti summer of 2008.

It has been used ALOT!
And had been abused!!
But I have not had to replace one part , still holds ice as long as it originally did & the outter shell still looks good.

So I recommend that if you plan on using an ice chest regularly ( 2/3 days a week or more get a yeti)

I have definitely gotten my 250$ out of my yeti

Of all the stuff I bought in 2008 only a few things made it to still b around today

Costa fathom shades, shimano citica 200d and my yeti.

That's y I keep supporting and backing those brands.

I use my 70qt igloo for years. I think it was 49 bucks when I bought it. I've never lost fish. As much as I like those yeti and other high end ice chest they are just to heavy. I can see having one at the camp but trying to move those monsters is a job in itself.

There are different kits depending on how much of this you want to have around the garage/shed.

Sorry, had to do it

But the way I see it a 70qt igloo is to big for 1 person to lift Bc of the length; I personally (6'3" and long arms )have no issues but I assume most people do.

So saying that the yeti is to heavy is kinda irrelevant Bc ur gonna use two people to lift an igloo amyway .

And if a yeti ( other high dollar/" heavy" )that fits in a bayboat is to heavy for you to move around when it's empty then u may need to do some push-ups at night or something.

Purebay I can manhandle my 70 qt alone and full. I'm only 5'6". So maybe you need some push-ups big boy. After 4yrs as a 11B in our US army & 4 more in LA nat guard I'm sure I've done more than my share.
Not to say I couldn't move the yeti around but I don't see the point. Other than to say. I got a yeti.
You want an extra 100 pounds to move around so you can say "my ice last for 8days but I only fish for 3"good for you.
As far as a good camp ice chest for drinks and food I think they are good. But in my boat not for me.
It's also economics. You will have that yeti stolen lost or otherwise before I go through 2 igloos. Again just my opinion.

I don't like web bashing but 6' 3" with short arms are you a raptor or just weak?

U completely missed what I'm saying, no where did I say I have problems lifting the yeti. I don't leave my yeti laying around so it won't get stolen easily. I'm glad u chimed in, really thanks and thanks for showing off ur reading comprehension skills.
