Default Fishful thinking in Leeville

Headed to the camp in Leeville this afternoon. Haven't been but once in the last 3 months. Hope the rain moves on quickly today. Has anybody been fishing down there? Heard there were some fish in the sulfur mines, but that was over a month ago.

Thanks

Mark

Looking foward to reading a report. Also could you let us know how the tides are running? This time of the year the water is usually LOW. Good Luck

Please post a report. I will be in a tournament on may 5th out of boudreaux's . Last year we placed 2nd. Want to get to number 1 this year. We had fished a platform in lake raccourci. Did pretty good.

I will report. I am going to try to talk the bride into going this evening and bringing the lights. Saw Bob's show they wore them out under the bridge. I have been telling her that would be an easy night trip.

Default Beautiful weather

Friday we got to the camp a little after 5 pm. got set up, ate a little boilled shrimp for supper and loaded the boat with generator and lights to do a little night fishing. Right after sunset we idled down the canal towards bayou Lafouche and as we get in the bayou I push the throtle and it is kind of hard and no go. so we idle back to the dock and I had to cut it off because i couldn't get it back in neutral. worked on it Saturday morning for a couple of hours and the bottom carb’s butter fly was stuck and is still stuck. Couldn’t get it unstuck so I pulled it and will drop it off at the shop.

We got to borrow a buddy's boat and ended up fishing Saturday late morning and Sunday. Hooked a few redfish by the Leeville bridge on ramp. Wind picked up some and the lakes were a little rough and dirty. tried some in Bayou La Loutre with not much to show for it.

Sunday the weather was a 10 and the water was a 3. Caught one speck at the rocks in little lake. Then we went to an island in Raccourci. Captain Bob Gourgues was there when we got there, probably around 9 or 9:30. We asked how he was doing and he said he had 18 big trout. We fished for a couple of hours and watched him catch another 8-10. We caught 6 or 7 but only 4 keepers. moved around and never found any clean water.

Saw thousands of ducks in the northern reaches of Raccourci. we didnt catch a lot of fish but had the wife and two of our boys and a friend with us and had a grand time on a splendid day.

Thanks for the Post. Bob could catch a fish in a bucket. Sounds like a good time. Good luck with your motor.
