was about to buy a new rod, but saw the micro guides

Micro Guides on bait cast rods,

Whats the advantage? if any?

Less line slap on casts? Longer casting? Not sure but it makes "cents" I guess.

I haven't noticed a whole lot of advantage with mine. But I do know they if you throw braid with a leader, your leader knot will cause you issues.

I have them on Duce baitcaster rods and love them. I can outcast anyone in the boat. You can expect 15 to 20 ft more per cast than normal rods. Haven't tried on spinning yet.

Im slowly changing all my rods out to micro eyes.
