Default It has been over a month and time to get back on the water

Have been doing a lot of traveling lately and ready to get back on the water. thinking about Bayou Bienville or Myrtle Groove.

Any recommendations?

Anyone doing anything in one of those places?

I caught pretty good today around the "Wall. Talk to a guy that had been fishing the rigolets and said he did not do anything. Use that for what it is worth, I had heard that the fishing was not doing that good at the wall either and I was able to bring home a mess of fish not to mention I caught 6 separate type of fish today, 2 salt water, and 3 fresh water fish.

Total for the day:
8 keeper trout from 14" to 18"
25 tagged trout
4 white trout (released)
1 white bass (striped bass) (released)
4 large mouth bass (released)
2 shell crackers (brim with the yellow half circle around the gills) (released)

It was a good day, caught fish pretty steady from the time I arrived until about 4:30pm that is when the wind changed directions from a south east wind to a due east wind.

Thanks man. About to launch now. Will report back later today. Just might end up at the wall sometime today. Good luck if you're headed back out today!!

No fishing here, the grandson and my daughter is coming to town. Mardi gras next week so it will be a few weeks before I hit the water again.

Not a good day for me. Got skunked on keepers. Managed to catch only two tiny ones. Almost could have been bait. Lol.

And got a derelict crab trap wound up in the prop.

Did you try the wall? I am looking to hit it again this coming Monday, should be a fairly good day with everyone at Mardi Gras parades or getting over their hangovers .

Are you fishing plastics or bait? I think we might hit the Wall or some dead end canals this weekend, while everybody is at the parades.

We did hit the wall. It was my first time fishing there. Actually that's where I caught the small ones. And both were caught on tiger bait vortex 3/8 oz on the bottom. Got a bite almost every cast just couldn't hook them.

I primarily only use plastics or lures, the only time I like bait is when I hit Grand Isle in the spring along the rock piles.]The dead end canals near the wall have not been working out very well for us lately, but you never know when those locations are going to turn on. I believe some of the issues with the canals right now is that everyone and their mother have been in fishing there, so I think the fishing pressure is the issue. You need to find those spots that no one is going to and then you will find a spot. Let me know if you find that spot.
