Default Handheld GPS?

Looking for a handheld GPS for fishing, hunting.
I've got Navionics app on my iPhone whichs works awesome, but not sure if it'll work out while fishing.
What's a good one that'll get you there and back, mark points and lay trails, and won't take forever to fire up?

(Someone gave me an old Garmin which takes 15 minutes to start up and is not user friendly at all).

ahlangle, the Navionics app on that phone should work just fine. You don't need service except for when downloading the maps. Just scroll to the area you will be fishing before you lose service so that part of the map will already be on the phone.

How would the app know where you were if you didn't have service though?
Can you lay a trail with Navionics?

Thanks

I tried to rely on navionices on the phone, it works when you don't need it too and leaves you in a bind when you need it most. Handheld is the best bet.

True, a handheld is the best but as long as you have the map already downloaded for the area the Navionics will work. It does on my s4 at least.
