Bulk Jig Heads?

Does anyone know where you can buy 1/4 oz & 3/8 oz jig heads like this in bulk?









Several different companies make them but I can't find them in bulk anywhere. I guess I'm gonna have to open an account with one of them.

I looked for some like these in bulk about a year ago. No luck. These type jigheads are expensive to by several packs of 5. These are made by Gene Larew "High Tide" you can't hardly pull a sand eel off by hand. I'd like to have about a 100 ea in 1/8 oz & 1/4 oz

I checked Barlow's tackle and this is fairly close to what you are looking for.

Packs of 10 for 4.69 for 1/8 oz.......do not have 1/4 oz.

Look on page 80 down at the bottom. Also look at page 78....bottom right.

I may take one of my molds & do a little modifying. The rings on the lead around the hook shank work real well. No more plastic sliding down the hook after a couple fish. Should be able to take a dremel tool & make these on regular jighead molds. I would think

They sell the bass assassin hooks @ Academy & they carry another brand too. I'm gonna go when I get in on Friday & buy some. I can't remember the name of them but I am pretty sure they are in a plastic container with a black, blue & silver label. The hooks on these are bigger than the bass assassin hooks.

This style of hook works much better than the barb style shank hooks. The barbs tend to tear the baits. At least the single barbs do. I'm gonna have to try out those marshworks hooks & see if they are comparable. They don't have the hooks W posted with the double barb on their site? I only see the single barb hooks. Are the doubles new?

Same here speck daddy. I've literally wore out two Lee production melting pot's in all the years of jig and lure making.

where are you finding lead at to melt?

scrap yard. We used to get a 5 gal bucket of tire weights from the scrap yard till oneday one the guys there ask what we were doing with it. He said yall don't want that. Too much trouble. He gave us a 50lb lead block. They melt the tire weights down & get the steel clips out & pour them into blocks. Much easier!

Haha that's where I get my lead. From tire places. I melt it all in a cast iron pot n sift out the impurities. It's all free. Besides. I like usin what hooks I like ta fish with not just any hooks will do for me

That's a good idea to get the lead from a tire shop...going to look into that. What jighead mold do yall use? I was looking at the do it molds.

I use a "Do it" jig mold......Model RVB 3120A. It has 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4, and 1 oz sizes.

One problem is it is made for [what I consider] small hooks. The smallest size hook I tried is a 0/2 which is a little small IMO for catching the larger size Trout and Reds.

I like the 0/3 heavy wire hooks and I had to enlarge the mold to make it fit this size hooks. A 0/2 heavy hook is also a good size.

I made some 1 oz jigs with 0/5 hooks for off shore fishing and that took modifications to make the mold fit that hook.

Getting Lead.......some tire shops will give you all they have. Some will not give you any......well maybe if you are buying a tire. I have 30 to 40 lbs here at the house now. I also make egg sinker.

Now, don't think you can get the equipment and go make 100 jig heads in an hour. It is a slow and takes a lot of time to make the jigs.

If you value your time.....go buy your jigs.

About how much does a melter cost? I would be interested in making some weights for decoys, jug lines and trot lines.
