I have several memorable fish..Most that stands out is when I was 12. My Father and I were fishing local ponds in the nature center. He was throwing some nice bait for a variety of pond species, and I was throwing a half of a curly tail grub on a 1/32 oz head. I would follow him around the pond, fishing where he left. Well, at one stop, there were a lot of grasses along and in the water. He left that spot, and I walk up. Next cast, I hook into a fish. I thought it was a bass, ended up being a 2.5 lb crappie. (sac-a-lait for yall). We didn't know there were any crappie in the ponds. But to have him be so excited for me after he just left that spot was what I remember most.
