FlagUS July 4th Big Lake Big Uns

Hit the water today with the entire family in tow. Day started off rough as we were greated at the storage unit with a flat tire on the boat trailer, putting us an hour behind schedule, but it ending up being a great day. Not a ton of fish, but we made up for it in size. Josh caught one close to 6 and I had one pushing 5. Smallest fish was around 2lbs. Tons of rat reds, croaker, lady fish, and even put a flounder in the boat. It was my 6 year old daughters first time fishing and she said it was "Off the Hook!" Learned that my 2 yr old's Buzz Lightyear fishing pole doesn't float but we were able to distract with with goldfish and cheese crackers...

FYI - Beware of the wier racing team - even had one guy making donuts along the bank. They were still cleaning up beer bottles at Cocahoes at lunch time. Supposedly the crowd reached 3,000 people last night!! Was a ghost town at lunch time as I guess everyone was still hungover.

Happy 4th to everyone!

Nice job, I call those SUPER DAD days; I found out kiddy poles dont float in toleda a couple years ago. Neither do, hats, nets, and Lightning Mcqueen race cars.

thanks for the heads up D even though I never made it too that spot. With the late start due to the flat by the time we got there 12 other boats had the same idea. wasnt worried about the pic since there are miles of bank that look like that and this particular spot wasnt any kind of secret.

Did one of the kids on y'all boat scream bloody murder everytime y'all put a fish in the boat? If so, I was right by y'all.
