Better have plenty of wasp spray if you start cutting them. They loves it under them leaves. Kinda hard to get away from them too when your 15' up on a ladder. I quit getting them washingtonias at my nursery,because of this very reason. They just look rough if you don't keep them trimmed,and they will grow about 3' of trunk a year. They will easily get another 20'+ taller too!

better have a motor on that pole saw Once they dry out like that its not as easy as you think.lol The whole branch gives when you start pulling on that saw. A sawsall with a branch cutting blade works wonders,just watch out for the shark teethe on the stems.
