Default Fossil watch battery

Is there an easier way to change the battery out on a fossil watch? I have to bring mine to a fossil dealership to get the battery changed because wal-mart don't sell this type of watch. How do you get the back off these watches? I tried a pocket-knife but damn near lost a finger. Any help ?

How old is the watch. I brought the wife's to the jewelry store the other day because her's runs slow and he tested the battery and said the battery was fine. He also said if it continues to run slow, Fossil has an 11 year warranty and to send it back to them. He did this at no charge. So if it is your battery, just go to the jewelry store and all you will pay for is the battery. Or have them remove the battery and go buy you one at Wally World.

The biggest POS watches I have ever owned were fossil. I'd never have another one. But, I no longer wear a watch.
