E-mail said he used regular gun powder (and a little too much)

and not smokeless powder

Oh great , I'll think about those pics everytime I fire my "smoke-pole". Just kiddin'. My buddy went flying up to his step father's camp for late evening hunt. Loaded the smoke pole and headed to the stand. When he shot a doe, he noticed that it kicked unusally hard. Found out later IT WAS ALREADY LOADED ONCE. He was very lucky that didn't happen to him. Safety, safety and more safety...I have scratched a mark on my ramrod to know when my bullet is 'seated' on the powder. I've heard if it's sitting 1/2" off the powder, it becomes an obstruction instead of a projectile...
