Default SE La. Anglers' almanac

General outlook
The good news is that warming water temperatures and a stretch of calmer days produced better speckled trout fishing. The bad news is the weekend weather guess calls for plenty of rain and thunderstorms Saturday, followed by a blustery Sunday. But temperatures will remain in the upper 70s into next week, which should help speck fishing going into April. We may be back on schedule after a tough winter.

Best baits: sparkle beetles (green) drifting in shallow water under a cork; DOA under a cork, shrimp, cockahoes, Saltwater Assassin (Opening Night), plastic cockahoes (blue/clear).

That's because they can't say "crappy" in their reports...

I haven't been to the bay in a while, I wonder what the water is like right now.

it'll get good some days bad the next. depends a lot on the winds but within the last two weeks i saw the salinity go up to 11 and stick around 5. But on low tide the salinity goes with it all the way down to nothing
