Default Redfish Lake Peigneur

I've heard of people catching reds around Lake Peigneur at the top end of Delcambre canal, but wasn't sure if this was common and where to launch and where to fish for em. Anything would help (conditions, time of year, etc). thanks

Sept and oct you can smoke them where delcambre canal enters the lake (also in delcambre canal itself) I wouldnt bother with it any other time of year.

Its been years since I've fished there, if its still like it used to be, you can launch at the Delcambre boat launch and go under the bridge if you have a small enough boat, but this time of year, all you will really catch are catfish and black drum. Delcambre/Avery canal is usually semi productive in late summer and early fall, keep in mind, you might not ever catch a limit of anything, (my best time out yielded a limit of reds and 10 or so specks)but I always had good times out there when I had a small boat and could not get to more productive places.

Great info, thanks very much.
I've got a 14' aluminum boat with a 15hp Johnson. I'll give it a shot in the fall over there, just looking for some places to catch a red that I can get to in my little boat.

In your 14' boat, you might try Weeks Bay and Shark Bayou, it is not far from Cypromort Pt. boat landing.
