Default Inshore fishing near Maurepas La

Well my time in Lake Charles is up and I am headed back home which is in Maurepas LA. During my time here I have fallen in love with Saltwater fishing and Big lake. Is there anywhere to fish near maurepas that is decent and within a hour or so drive? I have looked at Delacroix but that is a little over 2 hours away, any advice and tips would be greatly appreciated.

You could go out of the Slidel area, Lake P. The Rigolet's, Bayou Sauvage...lake catherine. Dulac's about 2 hours from Maurepas..

How is the fishing on the south east side of lake P? I was thinking of launching off the low road on I55 near Laplace and fishing the pilings and some of electrical supports in the area. Just not sure if it is worth the trip there or if I should just go to Slidell

There were some nice reds to be had but the river rolling thru the pins now so I would think it's pretty dirty . There's a launch on the lakeshore at the end of pea vine road . I'd check on winds at lakefront airport before coming this far . It doesn't take much to kick it up .
