FlagUS HandHeld GPS Opinions!!

Im in the market for a hand held GPS. Anyone have any recomendations or ones to not get! id prefer one in color and waterproof. Ill use it for hunting, fishing and mainly 4wheeler riding. Also needs to have a good amount of accessories bc id want to put it in my truck when not on the trails. Thanks for any advice!

I have a Garmin 76C(color) hand held that I have been having since they first come out with color hand helds. Still going strong. Can hook up laptop and customize or download maps to the GPS and your coordinates to the Laptop for storage in case they get wiped out. You can also customize routes. It is for land and water. Shows ranges, day markers, hazards, normal water levels and buoys. Just like looking at a chart.
It is waterproof. The newer ones have to be better now, I think I bought this one in 2000 or 2001.

I don't think any of the Garmin's are bad. I have a 62cs that I have had for years.

I just got and Oregon that I like better because of the bigger screen and no buttons sticking up to get broke off.

Don't know but they do still have some on sale. I suspect Garmin is coming out with some new units with the prices that Cabela's has.

I have a Garmin GPSMAPS 62S... with the Birdseye Imaging it is pretty sweet... I could have bought the Oregon when I got mine but I knew the touch screen wouldn't work with gloves on so I got the 62S... In Hind sight, I wish I had got the Oregon because I don't use gloves that much anyway.

Be careful with the buttons on the 62 series. I have broke 2 off. Have to find a stick to use the zoom in button....
