About $1500 to $2000 with the tank and pump. Could be a little more if you go with the submergable pump.

Naw, I had a 130' well drilled with a pump and tank a couple years ago and I paid $1350.

Aw man, thanks for that. I've been stressing over this crap since Friday. Here's what happened, the end of last year my wife and I bought a lot in a subdivision. Well we started doing our dirt work last week so I called the water company to come install the meter so we can have a line ready for when the builders come to do the cement work. The water company tells me that they don't have a line ran through the subdivision. So I call the guy that I bought the lot from and he tells me "O yea we didn't run water through the subdivision, just phone and power" . So I call the water company back to see what needs to be done so I can get water to my lot and they tell me that they would obviously have to run a line through the subdivision to get to me (no shyt Sherlock!) and that either the subdivision owners or myself would have to pay for the line to be ran since I'm the only one in the subdivision right now. So I'm weighing my options on drilling my own damn well compared to the price of paying the water company to run a line to my house. I gotta call the water company tomorrow to get their prices and call the guy I bought the lot from to see if he talked to the other owners to see if they would like to run water throughout the subdivision or not. If I woulda known they didn't have water ran through the subdivision I wouldn't have bought the damn lot to begin with

Can you do this any where? We have well water at the camp and I like it. Nothing like some good cold hose pipe water when we are working! I might be interested in drilling a well on my property.

Yep.....probably a little over budget and decided to just cut out the water line....times like these is what the "***** slap" was invented for.

I don't know if you can or not. I agree the cold well water is good but I don't miss having to prime the well early in the morning when it's raining and freezing cold....those were the days...

How does the house across the steet get their water? Well?

That's pretty much EXACTLY how it happened! When they developed the subdivision, the law didn't require them to install water lines, it was voluntary. Now the law requires them to be placed into new developments.

Yep, found that out when I asked one of the owners which water company I had to call to get the meter installed

You have to prime the well even if it is used every day?

No, the well will stay primed, but what Blue is referring to is when it is freezing outside and you wake up and the well lost prime for whatever reason: loss of electicity or the lines froze up, and you have to go out there freezing your "****" off to prime it. Wells never seem to lose prime on warm sunny days! |
