Default lakes around vinton

So, I moved to Vinton. Far away from all my normal stompin grounds. Anyone know of any lakes or launches good for sacalait? Is the sabine river? I know a launch for that right there in orange, but that's about all I know of for putting my boat in somewhere.

You can also fish at Alligator Park and south of the Interstate at the Burnt Out Bridge but I hear that trucks and trailers aren't safe there anymore.

You can also fish the Vinton drain ditch.

There is a public boat launch a mile or so south of the Interstate.

I went take a ride down to the burn out, and it does look like a good area, but I heard that trucks get broken into a lot down there. on the way I saw a place, it's called blue lake on google earth, and from what I saw it is pretty dang blue. anyone know if this is a private lake?

I don't think it's private . I have fished it before. But it gets a lot of traffic. There is also another pond on the other side of the road from Blue lake and it is a normal color. It's a mystery to me why that one is so clear.

Some good bass fishing in the fall if the water is right at Burn Out Bridge. When I first moved to LC had never really saltwater fished and had a lot of fun catching tailing reds in the marsh between the BOB canal and the high line just north of the launch (even caught some reds on hollow body frogs). I think people duck hunt that marsh though so not really sure if it's private land or not, but have always seen others out there. Used to yak a lot there. First trip I caught my 10 bass and a few trout, reds, and bonus flounder all anchored up in the mouth of the BOB canal where it hits the river on an outgoing tide. Thought that was the coolest thing ever lol. And listen to the other guys about the break-ins there. I heard it wasn't as bad as it used to be, but I wouldn't leave anything valuable in sight. And if you're north of I-10 there's a 14" min on bass fyi (don't know if I've ever caught one 14" there btw, dink city). Shout out to the game warden that let me play the stupid card and didn't write us a ticket for having over 10 undersized fish a few years back lol.

I've been launching there since 05' for duck hunting and fishing with no issues. One time my uncle's truck was broke into and they stole a new pair of his sons shoes, left credit cards.
