I have caught more solid fish in and around Turners Bay this year than anywhere else. Even when salinity was low and water was muddy. My experience has been they either there catching good or not at all and has been better for me on incoming tide than outgoing. Outgoing has been muddying up a few spots I like. Caught good last Sunday and Monday and Awesome Wednesday no trout at all Friday. I think Turners is always good for a few reds! No keeper trout. Dinks are everywhere

Awesome! I guess my thing is I grew up fishing prien area and calcasieu river around salt water barrier and stuff. My knowledge of big lake is limited to west cove, joes cove, the weirs and turners bay. And turners bay for me if I can't find birds working then I'm restricted to drifting the reefs and that's it ya know? Me and my dad fished the 2nd and third set of weirs Thursday and only ended up with 5 flounder and 1 red. Only caught a couple dink trout.

Are the fish able to go through the weirs that are closed to boats?
