I live closer to Calc Point than Hebert's. The bad weather had me thinking about fishing and trips coming up and I was wondering how much further is the trip from the Jetties to Calc Point than to Heberts? I played around with Google maps a little and I come up with about 7 miles longer one way. Anybody out there have any real world numbers to share? TIA

Why not just go launch at the jetties and problem solved! lol But that's just me maybe. Because i hate long boat rides.

I agree with launching at the jetty. Either run is way too long if you're running from bad weather.

7 or 8 miles seems about right but in the case of bad weather I would much rather running back in the ship channel than having to cross the lake. You can at least find somewhere to hide if it gets too bad. I agree about going down to launch at the jetties as well. When I am fishing the south end I launch out of there. The launch is not that bad. My truck burns a whole lot less gas than my boat.

I always drive to the jetties to fish the jetties.
