Got to cal point around 6 and already had a line to launch and even longer one for shrimp. Knew I should of left earlier and once I got to north east corner was really kicking myself for not leaving 30 minutes earlier. Trout were on the reef but so were the boats. Drifted up to back side with wind and hang out waiting to see if any would leave but they looked like they were there for the long haul. After boxing 2 trout on outside of reef I decided to go look at cut. Caught a couple bull reds there but no trout. Wasn't prepared to run lake today so went to see if boats left reef in north east corner . Nope more on it now. Wind changed and out of south east now so drifted in to have a look. Same boats still catching a few with others just on the outside like I was earlier. As I'm trolling back out one of em in the flat bottom yells something sarcastic so that was enough for me. Let em have it. Headed to turners and could not hardly navigate thru there with all the boats. Wasn't about to try and work my way in all that so remembered Sunday I caught some on bank across from cal point. Figured no one would be in there so took off. Only a couple of boats but barges tied up all the way thru there and one right where I caught them. I get in there and quickly catch a nice trout thinking it's about to be on. Nope an hour goes by with out another bite. Almost went back to turners but it's already 10-1030 now so figured I'd give it til noon and then just head in. Fished up and down both banks for the next hour and half with no luck. Was about to call it and decided to go anchor where I caught that one trout earlier, one cause trolling batteries almost dead and two that's only place even got a bite. Fished for about 45 minutes and nothing. Was literally picking stuff up in the boat getting ready to leave and when I grabbed my pole to reel it in it pulled back lol. Nice fattie too. Ended up boxing 7 more trout right there. Finished the day with 10 trout 2 reds and a nice flounder. Fished hard for them today but enjoyed it. Hate that cal point is closing for the year after Sunday. Man there was some boats on the lake today. I thought everyone would be duck hunting but I was wrong. Think I'm gonna give the white perch one more try Sunday before getting all my freshwater equipment and boat put up for winter. Will try the lake a couple more times though in middle of week when not so many out there. Good luck all.

Good work. If there is nice weather on Black Friday, lake is always packed. Way to stay at it.
