Cat is in its summer coat which can be lighter. Sun is also backlighting it which will make the patterns not show up as well. They can be reddish also. The scientific name is Lunx rufus which means reddish.
Been seeing a lot more each year. They seem to be doing quite well |

Yep. Seen several. My dad used to trap the carlyss and choupique area. Trapped well over 100. Many different shades and patterns.

So ya'll think its just a regular old bobcat with a unique looking summer coat?

It's no doubt a bobcat. The features are perfect (ears, tail, etc.). I think the way the sunlight is hitting it causing shadows is what makes it look a little different. You would probably be able to make out a few spots if the light was right

I was thinking it was a bobcat crossed with some kind of housecat or small exotic cat. I wish you could see the video of it. The black and white colors are very clear as it walks around. Zero visible spots and it actually has a decent sized tail(6-7 inches).

Had one similar colored, about an hour ago, running down the levee in front of my 4-wheeler.

Maybe my eyes aren't what they used to be, or the photo is lacking, because I don't really see the "undenyable" features of a regular bobcat. I see slight similarities. Seems to me it's stance is a bit tall.
