3 acres is a small tract if you spend much time in the woods or leave your scent , the deer have gone nocturnal. the best chance you will have is to wait for the rut and try to catch one chasing or slippin. |

ever try to take a pic with your camera thru your binoculars? much harder than shooting one with a rifle. we're on a wildlife program at our lease, so i can only shoot one doe and i'm not seeing anything but young bucks. i've been taking pics thru the field glasses and some are pretty good. i haven't saved any, but if i get another chance this week end, i'll post it.

Take vacation and hunt the rut hard! Use cover scent and play the wind. Put your feeder far away from your stand(100yards or so). Don't go down to your feeder very often. Put piles of corn and rice bran down other shooting lanes far away from your stand. You could plant some persimmon and pear trees too to hold them in the future. Good Luck!

If they are on it at night then figure out where they are coming from. Keep your trafficto an absolute minimum and when you figure it out always use the wind to your advantage. With a spot this small its easy to blow it out and ruin it for awhile if you get busted.

On a tract of land that small you cannot let the deer know they are being hunted. That should be your number one priority. Hopefully you have a way to get to stand without being detected and can hunt only on the days that the wind is right for your stand.

Buy a good spotlight and start laying down some backstrap.
