Does anybody have a trick to remove foam from the hull of an aluminum boat? Besides cutting the deck / floor out, the only idea I have is using a chemical to melt it and a pump up sprayer. I'm sure someone has dealt with this before and has a better idea.

Pressure washing it out seems to work from what I have read on another website. But they still had to cut into the float pods to get it out.

there is a chemical they use but its pretty expensive. plus once you dissolve all the foam with this chemical it makes pretty much napalm. then you have to get someone to come dispose of it. pressure washer with a zero degree nozzle and you can slice it up into little pieces and dig it out by hand.

Are you going to replace it or just not have foam anymore? If you just don't want it then why not buy a storage hatch door kit and then you could cut the hole, dig foam out and make a storage compartment... you could do this front and back of boat and on the floor you could take it up and then just screw it back down to make it easier to do wiring repairs or clean boat out

That's not a bad idea Weedeater and worth looking into. No definetely not going to replace it.
