Default bayou Bienvenue first trip

Decided to post during LSU halftime, need some better news.
Went to B Bienvenue for the first time ever. Launched at Bait Inc. and headed out with no idea where to start. First 2 hours no fish. Beautiful water everywhere and good looking marsh areas. Started around noon and around 2:30 found a spot with some moving water and lots of bait on the surface. Anchored up and caught fish non stop for a couple hours until I had to go and left them biting. Most on Gulp shrimp tightlined. Caught a limit of trout 25 about 15 reds only 2 keepers + a couple of nice bass all in the same spot. Will be back again soon.

Default Return trip

Made a second trip to the Bayou Friday.
Had to wait on the locks to open at noon to go thru then close at 1:00 and not reopen until 4:30. So we had to stay fishing on the other side until it reopened. Not a problem once the bite turned on it was nonstop until we left. Caught a limit of 50 trout and then released a bunch more. Caught a lot of redfish but all under 16". Anchored in one spot and never moved.

I'm new to fishing the area as I have been fishing V-Bay and Calcasieu for the past 25 years or so. Have to say that so far I've found the fisherman on the water have been much more civil and respectful in that area so far. Have not had anyone rudely encroach on my spot when I'm catching. Had someone actually ask if it was ok to move in closer to where I was achored the last trip. He did so with the troll motor and a stick anchor without disrupting the bite. The boat launch etiquette although is challenging and takes some patience to deal with.

It's a striper. Was really surprised to see it. Caught every species of fish out there but did not expect this one.
