Default Trout Bite Remains Strong in Cocodrie

As expected this time of year the trout fishing is in full swing around the barrier islands. The schools of fish are enormous and when you find one it doesn't take long to fill a limit. Today was no different as Al Adams and his two sons Austin and Allie joined me for a trip of a lifetime. At daybreak the trout were feeding heavily on our live shrimp as only 3 fish came on artificial lures. We nailed 40 good ones at our first stop before the frenzy ended. Across the bay was another big school but most of those fish were on the small side mixed in with some white trout. Another move paid dividends as it was non-stop action on artificial lures, some casts resulting in 2 trout at once. These fish were more on the chunkier side and the guys had an incredible time reeling them over the gunnels of the Blue Wave. I am out of open dates for May but have a few left to fill in June and July. My website is fully automated and booking online takes a few seconds!
