For the gillie suit I started with taping a camo para cord around the kayak. This gives it weight and makes it easier to put on. I then draped the net over the boat and used Velcro staps to attach net to para cord. I then wrapped para cord around all the attachments and attached to net. By doing this it makes it very easy position net over boat. I can take the net on and off in 30 seconds even when wet.

For the string it is now a matter of thinking about the surrounding grass, trees, water etc and blending the colors. The gillie is more about breaking up the outline of the kayak than additional colors. And this is a great time for me and my son Andrew to work on a project together. He had a great time knotting the strings. At seven years old he doesn't understand what he is doing but over time he will.

Final look of finished boat by my duck blind. I have made a bunch of nets for hunters and if anyone wants my help just ask. Not a professional at it in any way. Just have set up a few boats and kayaks.

Thanks! Did the steps make sense? Sorry for so many photos. Didn't know if they were helping or just making a long thread.

Photos never hurt. I think most of us are visual learners.
