Thats a nice size gator. I seen one probably bigger than that on Mandalay NWR a few years back. The biggest alligator I ever seen in my life in captivity or in the wild. The girth on him looked like he ate a pirougue.

I was fishing by myself at Cazan's lake in the mid to late 80's while I was in High school in crowley. I saw a gator that looked to be about 15' long. In fact there were 2 tupelo gum trees near each other and his tail hung out on one side of one tree and his head hung out the other side of the tree. I had a 15' Duracraft with a 20 hp mercury and my boat/motor fit between the 2 trees! Gator had to be over 17' long! wish I had a camera back then.
