Down in dularge!
Finally got some time to sit down at my computer. A busy 4 days of fishing the DU combined with taking care of my mother and mother-in-law, I'm whipped! Need a few days of R&R! As far as the fishing it has been incredible to say the least. Everyone is catching fish(prior to this cold front coming in tonight) in big numbers as the trout & redfish action is ahead of schedule. Usually we don't see these numbers until late April-early May. Lake Mechant has been the hotspot if you want trout. Sister Lake is just not producing the numbers of fish compared to Mechant and its hard to put my finger on why its that way. The trout have been nice with 18in. fish very common lately. Craig 'Big Nutria' Fuson treated Danny Trull & Theresa Gray to a fishing trip for helping him put new windows in the camp. Theresa performed her magic in the kitchen as her cooking was hard to beat. We had a great day of 'catching' on Friday with 100 nice trout! Every fish was caught on the brand new 'cajun pepper' Bayou Chub Minnow. We like a little 'cajun pepper' with our fish!!!The trout were feeding heavy on baby croakers and it was 4 at a time as the crew quickly filled the box. John Dean and the boys have really struck gold with this new color as the reds & trout just eat it up! This one is going too give the infamous LSU Bayou Chub a run for the money. One thing for sure is we'll have plenty to offer them. Danny & Theresa had a blast catching fish with Craig and I loving every minute of it! Good luck fishing.
