No miracle cure many times after having a lumbar laminectomy unfortunately. Last resort after going through therapy, exercises, i.e. conservative treatment. That being said, now that your sx has been done, every ones recovery time is different. Give it some time--couple of months and if if symptoms don't abate it may be necessary to do another MRI and or seek another opinion

Had it done several years ago on a couple of vertebrae near L5-S1. Surgery failed so they did a fusion which also failed. I will take what I have now and go as long as I can. The older I get, though the more it hurts. I'm 58. As others have said, it's different for everyone. Some it works for, others not. The one thing I can absolutely say is to listen to your body. Only you know if there is a problem. Give it plenty of time to heal and follow the doc's orders as for as recovery. It takes time. I wish you the best!!!

I was fortunate, when I had back issues I was a good candidate for a discectomy. Woke up from the surgery feeling better and haven?t had any issues in the 11 years since.
