Default Leader knots with micro guides

I'm looking at a new rod with micro guides, and I fish braid on all my reels. Has anyone run into problems with braid to mono knots, like uni to uni, catching the micro guides?

Micros are horrible for leader knots. I have tried three different knot and even tried smaller leader material with a duce and nothing has worked. I spoke with one of their guys at the outdoor expo last year and was told to use a 6 inch leader...lol....or no leader at all...lolx2.

I routinely use 4-6 ft leaders with a swivel. No need to reel the knot into the guides to put fish in the boat. No need to tie 6" leaders either.

Micros don't like knots.

I have seen a couple of recoil guides break with guy's using leaders.

Short leader would probably be best.

I'm with you on this, I don't use leaders that long though. No matter what, I don't see a need to reel them into the guides.

I just use a leader that is a foot or so and I don't reel it into my guides. If i do reel into my guides I don't cast until I get the knot out.

I hate banging the knot through the guides....you can't tell me the knot does not weaken from the friction. I just tie a 20" leader to the braid uni to uni or if in a rush a triple sergens knot. With a jerk jr or sand eel I use a #10 spro swivel to keep the line twist to a minimum.

I use a blood knot to a 3' Fluoro leader. No problems.

Crazy Alberto tied right seems to be the best for micro guides just cut the tags flush and only use 10-12 lb leader with 20lb braid. Just don't forget to set the drag fishin a smaller dia. Leader

Tried the alberto knot, seems to go through the guides better than a uni to uni. Just not sold on the knot going through the guides.

Yea you can deff still feel the knot. I've never had any trouble with it losing integrity in a days fishing. Not sure on the long term wear on the guide though.

I use the uni to uni knot with a 24" leader on a deuce with micro guides and don't have a problem. If you reel it up slow or disengage your spool and let your bait drop, the knot will hang every time. But, with normal casting and retrieving I rarely have problems.
