Default Kayak on steroids (Vermilion bay area)

Normally I kayak at the point in V- bay, but now I have a Soloskiff and can extend my range some. Still not a rough water skiff but can get in some pretty skinny water.
What I'm thinking is going out of ICY and maybe cutting down 4 mile cut. Would it be worth it? I'm sure an East wind would be a no go, but anything else I should look out for before going?
Tired of driving 2hrs East or West to fish from the Berry.

It's rated for a 5hp, I got a6 Suzuki on it. Stripped down it'll run 17-18mph.

That first pic looks like the landing at Dauterive. You fished there lately?

That's the landing, I was just testing it out in a somewhat controlled environment for my first time out.

That is a nice rig up. Did you put some type of winch opposite of your trolling motor? That is what it looks like in the picture.
